Camping Festival Checklist

RaveTalks is attending Imagine Music Festival this year!!! Since this is our first time camping at a festival we made a camping checklist so we wouldn’t forget everything. This check list is great for all camping music festivals especially if you’re flying and are limited on packing space. Hope this helps you on your next fest! 

 

Camp Essentials:

  • Tickets/Passport/ID
  • Map and directions to the festival
  • Map of the festival grounds
  • Concert schedule
  • Tent
  • Tent marker (flag, balloons, lights, etc.)
  • Lock for your tent
  • Cooler
  • Wagon (to lug all stuff from car to campsite)
  • Canopy (if allowed inside) or screen house
  • Tapestries &/or flags to hang around your campsite (great way to locate campsite at night and create shade for campsite during the day)
  • Mallet & stakes (make sure to bring extra!)
  • Sleeping bags (with optional liners), air mattresses, or cots
    • Pump for air mattresses
  • PillowS
  • Blankets
  • Hammock or coochie couch or inflatable couch
  • Folding camp chairs
  • Folding table or camp kitchen
  • Headlamps or flashlights (with extra batteries)
    • Lantern
    • String lights (great way to decorate campsite)
  • Decor (faux vines, banners, disco balls, etc.)
  • Floaties
  • Umbrella (for potential rain and/or  sun protection)
  • Speaker
  • Solar or portable chargers 
  • Camp shower
  • Microfiber shower towel
  • Jumper cables
  • Baby wipes, wet wipes, &/or toilet paper
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Natural bug repellent for the campsite if you’re sensitive and prone to bug bites like us!!

 

Inside the Festival:

Check festival regulations ahead of time for rules about what you can and can’t bring inside!

  • Cash &/or credit card
  • Cell phone
  • Fanny pack
  • Hydropack or reusable water bottle
  • Snacks
  • Ground blanket
  • Hand sanitizer or wipes
  • Bandanas and/or pashminas for dust
  • Chapstick, gum, electrolyte packets
  • Hand fan (NO FAN CLACKING PLS) or portable battery powered fan (BONUS if it has a mister)
  • Kandi & gifts (sprouts, rubber duckies, water gun, bubbles, toys, etc.)
  • Disposable or film cameras for the memories

 

Kitchen:

  • 2-burner stove
  • Butane or propane depending on type of burner stove (depends on the festival regulations)
  • Reusable plates, bowls, & mixing bowls
  • Reusable water bottle, cups, & mug
  • Reusable forks, spoons, & knives
  • Scissors, tongs, & spatula
  • Food-storage containers or bags
  • Resealable storage bags
  • Trash bags
  • Fitted tablecloth 
  • Biodegradable dish soap
  • Pot scrubber, sponge(s)
  • Collapsible water container or bucket to clean dishes in
  • Quick-dry towels or paper towels
  • Lysol wipes
  • Ice
  • Dry ice (leave in original bag! Make sure to use cardboard or paper bag to prevent cooler from cracking and food from burning). Put dry ice at the bottom of the cooler before adding some ice, food, then more ice.
  • Food ideas that are great for a campsite:
    • Apple sauce packets
    • Protein or nut bars
    • Fruits that don’t have to be refrigerated (cuties, oranges, bananas, pears, nectarines, apples, melons)
    • Veggies and hummus / dips
    • Crackers (peanut butter crackers or plain)
    • Pretzels or chips
    • Fruit snacks
    • Snack packs (meat cheese and crackers packets, fruit packets, veggies and ranch packets)
    • Sandwiches PRE MAKE IF YOU CAN (PB&J, BLT, Turkey clubs, etc.)
    • Beef jerky
    • Cereal and milk (can get shelf milk so don’t have to refrigerate until opened)
    • Canned soups and/or pasta (get the cans that do not need a can opener or pack a can opener
    • Pre made protein shakes or smoothies (or get a reusable bottle shaker and get protein and/or veggie powders)
    • Gatorade or body armor
    • Vitamin C packets and vitamins so you don’t get the wook flu!
    • Water, water, water!!!!

 

IF you’re feeling extra like BDE:

  • Pottie bucket (make sure to have small or medium trash bags to put inside of it)
  • Kiddie pool (great way to cool down by putting water in and add ice from the cooler. Also a great way to do a little half bath/ body rinse)
  • Inflatable lounge chairs
  • Massage roller
  • Battery powered massage gun
  • Battery powered blender
  • Mattress topper to go on top of air mattress or cot
  • Insect screen protector to put around canopy so no bugs get in
  • Outdoor rugs to leave shoes at
  • Slippers to walk around inside campsite
  • Shower caddy (so none of your shower things have to touch the public showers)
  • Quick dry bath wrap towels
  • Face and eye masks 
  • Diffuser or home spray so inside camp smells beautiful 
  • Plastic body mirror 
  • Bicycles

Camping Festivals are often very hot so buy enough water in advance for you to drink for the duration of the event!
